Fee Structure

We inform our clients up front of how our fees are determined.

Fee structure

The fee for legal assistance is agreed upon beforehand by both parties, primarily determined by the following criteria:
  • The legal entity of the client (corporate or private).
  • The type of case.
  • The scale of the case(s) handled.
  • The location and jurisdiction.

The introductory meeting is free of charge. Because of limited overhead costs and an efficient course of action, we are able to offer flexible and competitive fees.

When employing our services, one of the following 5 payment methods may apply:
  • Hourly rate (time based fee)

This legal fee is based on time spend including overhead (office) costs.

  • Flat rate (contract fee)

A one package deal, the modalities and terms of payment have been agreed upon in advance.

  • Success fee (contingency payment)

A percentage of the result won for the client in a legal dispute. This method may be used when representing clients in legal proceedings (dispute resolution through court, prosecutor a/o police), via mediation or through amicable settlement in cases that meet the requirements.

  • Fixed price (set payments)

When performing certain standard tasks and customary dealings, such as drafting contracts, legalization of documents and filing of applications, fixed prices may apply. This also applies for services performed within the scope of regular dealings and common affairs, where a legal warranty is obligatory.

  • Retainer (periodic payments)

In this system, the (regular) customer pays a monthly fee based on the tasks completed and services provided. The amount and services are agreed upon in advance and usually applies to consulting services for regular customers.

If beneficial for the client and the type of case favors it, a combination of the aforementioned methods can be offered.

Depending on the case, operational expenses a/o third party tariffs may apply:

Operational expenses refer to non-overhead costs which are payable to others, such as:

  • Travel & accommodation expenses
  • Stamp duty & postal services

Regardless of the fee structure, these operational expenses if incurred for the purpose of the case shall be reimbursed by the client.

Third party tariffs refer to legal duties and government levies which are payable to others, such as:

  • Court fees
  • Government bodies
  • Substitution

Regardless of the fee structure, these third party tariffs if incurred during the progress of the case shall be paid for by the client. It should be noted that in case of a succesful lawsuit, the court will rule that specific court costs are to be reimbursed to the plaintiff.
